Peer Connections
Our adult Life Groups have been created to provide a unique way for church goers to connect with each other outside the Sunday service and get real answers to life’s tough questions. Many people cannot get connected as well with others on a Sunday morning, which is why we encourage everyone to get involved in a Life Grop. We discuss real life issues and find real answers for them. As we often discuss issues that are not age-appropriate for children the group is adults only. The Blacksburg Life Group meets at 201 Ardmore St. Blacksburg, VA 24060 every Tuesday at 6:30 pm. The Radford Life Group meets every Thursday at 6:30 pm at 1102 Second St. Radford, VA 24141.
Mentoring Connections
“We all need somebody to lean on”. In 1987 those words echoed across radios in America as Club Nouveau released their cover of the 1972 classic song “Lean On Me” by Bill withers. Those words are just as true today as they were then. At Three Strand we focus on developing mentoring relationships among peers and between generations. Every believers needs a spiritual parent to speak into his or her life, a spiritual sibling to walk beside him or her, and a spiritual child with which to share his or her life lessons, experiences, and relationship with Jesus.
Counseling Connections
Life is hard sometimes, and it is even harder if you feel like you are facing it alone. At Three Strand we have a dedicated group of believers who will walk with you through the storms that life brings. We offer Scripture-based pastoral and peer counseling for most areas of life like finances, marriage, child-rearing, bereavement, family crisis, life skills, personal trauma, and addiction. The greatest barrier to experiencing healing from our struggles is the fear of how others will perceive them. At Three Strand we understand because we have our own struggles too.
Healing Connections
We live in a spiritual world. Most days we neither see it nor think about it until issues surface that seem too big or too complex to explain by our understanding of the natural. Ephesians 6:12 says “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Our pastor has nearly two decades of experience in spiritual warfare dealing with issues like witchcraft, occultism, generational curses, addiction, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, OCD, and many others. Not every struggle has spiritual causes, but when they do they need to be dealt with. Jesus did not die just to leave his people struggling.
